Being hunted by a mad-man, caught in a stairwell with a lunatic, or various other incidents of suspense will only keep you reading until you reach the end. Fast paced is how I would describe this book. From the very beginning Lynnette keeps you on the edge of your seat with suspense. Maddy and Quinn have been friends for a long time, but their relationship is at a crossroads. Maddy loves Quinn and has stuck by him for some length of time through thick and thin, but he continuously keeps people an arms length away. Never allowing any one to get too close. When both are kidnapped and the danger gets deep, their relationship goes to an all new level. Each comes with baggage from the past, and they are both struggling to work through the challenges that hold them back. This book was full of constant twists and turns and intense scenarios. The author really thought this one out. She keeps you guessing the whole way through. The only thing I found a bit disappointing was that the climax seemed to happen more at the beginning than the end. I never really did figure out who the killer was, although I had my suspicions towards the end. It wasn't predictable. I enjoyed the growth and maturity in Maddy and Quinn's relationship and their willingness to work through the hard stuff. Although book 3 in the series, it can be read as a stand alone. There is some reference to characters that are in the other books, mostly including Maddy and Quinn's friends, but the plot is totally irrelevant to the previous plots. I was provided with a free copy of this book to read by the publisher. All opinions are my own and I was not asked to review positively.
