While there she also meets a fairy who takes her to a garden, in which she allowed to select her new baby brother, or is it a sister?

When she awakens in the morning she has a big surprise waiting for her.

About the author

Mabel Henrietta Samuel was born in Liverpool, in 1862, the daughter of Edwin Samuel, and his wife, Clara Yates. She was educated in Brussels, and married Marion Harry Spielmann in 1880, having one son. She died in 1938. In addition to her children's books, Spielmann wrote about the life and work of Charlotte Bront‰, and about the history of art.
