About this ebook

From USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author comes the next book in the Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team.

Trust Laramie Briscoe to provide engaging characters in a well-built world I want to revisit again and again. Carly Phillips, NY Times bestselling author.

Madden

Being the newest member of the Laurel Springs Police Department and the LSERT hasn't been easy. I'm trying to carve out a place of my own where family bonds run deep in this tight-knit group of men. They haven't been unwelcoming, but I yearn to truly belong.

In both Laurel Springs, and the LSERT. The one friend I can count on is my K-9 partner, Donut. We're working hard to prove our spot in the police department, and find a sense of home.

When I'm thrust into the role of school resource officer for the local elementary school, I never anticipate being drawn into an investigation that takes us back to a Laurel Springs before the Moonshine Task Force. Nor do I expect a little boy with sad eyes and his hot aunt to wiggle their way into my heart.

Becca

My new life as a dispatcher is a far cry from the dreams I had before I took custody of my nephew. I've put a lot on hold to make sure he has what he needs, and the stability he craves.

But Madden? He's a beacon of warmth and strength during an emotionally cold time for me. Despite my resolve to focus just on being a guardian, there's a spark between us, igniting a flame I thought was long gone.

As we navigate what is becoming an increasingly complex situation, we discover that in the craziness of chaos, love has a way of finding its place. Even in the darkest of nights.

This is the ninth book in the series and it's packed full of feels and emotions. My heart went out to the characters in this one. Becca and Mitch are finding their way. I give Becca so much credit for taking in her nephew. Poor Mitch has seen and been through things a little kid should never see. With Madden's switch on the job creates a bond with Mitch. My heart was slowly mended back together watching Madden, Becca, and Mitch create a family.

Never read a book by this author that I haven't enjoyed. This book involves two strong characters, each with baggage of a poor childhood and determined to make a good future. Guilt and shame hangs heavy at times, but Becca is managing despite the difficulties. Her decisions over caring for her nephew are fraught with doubt. Madden has his own secrets and driven to succeed, despite his upbringing. His attraction to her also encompasses the needs of Mick, encouraged with help of Donut, his K9. Becca learns his most important secret, but at the moment no-one else knows, and the ladies circle are unaware the Mad dog, the person they watch and drool over is close by. He knows them and all their comments on his site. Loved how he offered to stop his workout for dating Becca. This couple are perfect for each other and life in Laurel Springs is working out well for them. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I love being back in Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team series and book 9 was another swoon worthy must read. K-9 Officer Madden and Dispatch Becca story was relatable and enjoyable. I loved watching how the daily events in their life brings them closer as their romance blossom to so much more. This was another wonderful addition to the addicting series.
