Jonel B. (Pure Jonel)
Yates has a way of writing emotions that become just as real for the reader as they are for the characters. All the while, she makes romance fun with real banter and off the charts chemistry between her characters. The relationship between the two main characters was both sweet and comical. It bordered on ridiculous at times as they treaded the waters between a lifelong friendship and their newfound escapades, yet at the same time it was always realistic. Anna’s complete and utter vulnerability combined with her rock hard personality is a compelling mix. I love how she is almost the opposite of the female stereotype on the outside, but on the inside is another story. Countered by Chase’s sizzling hot attitude and complete lack of self-restraint, these two come together in surprising ways. And their lifelong friendship just adds to it all. Once again Yates has created a quick, fun read that really packs a punch. It’s a fantastic read as a standalone and a great addition to Copper Ridge.
