Jules Gardner
Very enjoyable read, a handful of characters playing out a Shakespearean plot in the monochrome shades of the Glaswegian underworld. The plot continues from the first of the trilogy seamlessly and is carried along by the narrative to it's natural, dark conclusion. Mackay treads a line with the story and characters, these are not likeable people who are morally corrupt. However, you do care, if not about them, but about what happens to them. I'm off to read part three!
