Very informative book. But it's dry and academic. It's a lot of effort to slog through and can be repetitive at times. It feels like reading an academic journal, but with more redundancy.

About the author

A paediatrician for 30 years, Dr Marc Weissbluth is also a leading researcher on sleep and children. He founded the original Sleep Disorders Center at Chicago's Children's Memorial Hospital in 1985 and is a professor of Clinical Paediatrics at Northwestern University School of Medicine (www.sweetbabies.com). His landmark seven-year study on the development and disappearance of naps highlighted the importance of daytime sleep. In addition to his own research, he had lectured extensively to parent groups and has appeared on Oprah.
