Nel decennale della morte di Decio Gioseffi desideriamo ricordare la coraggiosa battaglia che, ancora giovane, egli intraprese per emendare il saggio di Erwin Panofsky su La Prospettiva come “forma simbolica”, dagli equivoci che tutt’ora condizionano la Prospettiva. Il decorso del tempo ha introdotto alcuni elementi nuovi nella nota querelle Gioseffi vs Panofsky. Si tratta degli esiti di alcune ricerche recenti sulla veduta vincolata e sulla pittura quadraturista, e di un clima culturale che oggi è più disponibile a conciliare la lettura storico artistica del saggio con quella scientifica.
