About this ebook

'The perfect, sinisterly magical escape' Stephanie Garber

A magical secret society.
A deadly competition.
A chance for revenge.

After a vampire murdered her mother, Ava swore to get revenge. But it's been ten years since anyone has even seen a vampire.

When Ava stumbles across a magic show, she witnesses impossible illusions. Sneaking backstage, she discovers an ancient secret society with true magic. They will teach her how to hunt vampires if she can prove her worth. Now, she must put on the performance of her life in a sinister competition: one where illusion and reality blur, and the stakes are deadly.

But vengeance is finally within reach . . .

Massive nods to Buffy, like MASSIVE, almost gratuitously so. Lucky for me, I'm a gratuitous Buffy fan. Plots turns a little on the predictable side for the savvy reader. That being said I thoroughly enjoyed the ride and the writer got me on side with all the core characters so I was heavily invested within the first 100 pages. Would happily place this as a comfort read as it stands alone well!
