Honor’s revenge…. how to review this book without giving too much away? This is the fourth book in the Masters’ Admiralty series, (but my first book in the series) and although it could be read as a standalone I would recommend to start with the first book in the series (Treachery’s Devotion) as not having the backstory might make you feel like you are missing something, The secret society is under attack from an unknown mastermind who keeps killing of important members. As an attempt to get closer to solving the mystery of who the mastermind is, the Fleet Admiral Eric Ericsson sends two of its members to America on a hunt for a killer. There they meet with the Grand Master of the Trinity masters, Master’s Admiralty equivalent in the United States of America. But the two societies are not on good terms, and Hugo and Lancelot do not play by the rules. To catch the killer they have to break the rules and contact Sylvia, a former student of Hugo. Let’s just say that instant sparks fly between the three, some would claim love at first sight. When Sylvia is kidnapped by her old teacher the pace picks up and we meet a few more interesting characters in Sylvia’s brothers. This book is an easy read and a lovely love story, although I didn’t really feel that much of a connection with the characters, with the exception of Eric Ericsson, who definitely intrigues me. As I said, an easy read and definitely a book I would recommend too read. A book with a cliff hanger making me itches for the prequel. The next book on my list will be Treachery’s Devotion. I received a free copy of this book and leave a voluntary review.

This book totally blew me away! I knew before I even got started (based on the other books in the series) that there would be intrigue, danger, and a steamy love connection, but this story exceeded all of my expectations. On a side note, this book could probably be read on its own, but there are subtle nuances to the story that you would miss or not understand fully if you haven't already immersed yourself in the world of the Masters' Admiralty (and reading the Trinity Masters series wouldn't hurt either!) Hugo and Lancelot are sent on a mission, that begins to look like a fool's errand. Sylvia is a gifted poet, who seems to be flighty and naive at first glance. But things aren't always what they seem at first to be. Between the three of them there are lots of surprises, and more than a few secrets. Danger and intrigue follow the trio. I can't say enough how amazing this book was. I read it in one sitting, unable to put it down. I have to admit, I shed a few tears, laughed out loud more than once, and have come to the conclusion that this diabolical duo of writers loves to torture their readers, but they always make up for it with a smashing HEA! I definitely recommend this book, and the entire Masters' Admiralty/Trinity Masters Saga, to anyone who is looking for a little love and a whole lotta action in their life!

Once again Mari Carr and Lila Dubois have us on a rollercoaster ride of intrigue, suspense and mystery with romance thrown in too. As the book is not out yet, I don't want to give anything away. Once again Vice Admiral Eric Ericsson enlists the aid of members of the Master's Admiralty to try and find out who is killing its members. In order to gather information on and capture the wife of sniper the man who killed many people, Lancelot Knight and Hugo Marchand head to America. Here they butt heads with the Trinity Masters as they meet Sylvia Hayden, a poet and visual artist and former student of Alice Rutherford, the sniper's wife. As the three try to find Alice and try to figure out who is pulling the strings in the assassinations/murders, we learn a little bit more of the why. we also find out a little more about Eric's past. This story also introduces Sylvia's triplet brothers. They are fantastic characters and I think other than Eric, my new favorites. Once again, just when you think you have figured out the killer, they throw you a curve ball. I am totally addicted to this series and can't wait for the next book.
