Gia feels like she is the last single one of her group standing. All of her family and friends seem to be getting married or finding their partners. Gia just broke up with her long term boyfriend when she realized that the relationship wasn't going anywhere. Unfortunately, she lives in the small town of Maris and the dating pool is super small. She has branched out to trying Tinder with guys from towns farther away without any better luck. Her bestie is marrying her long time sweetheart and Gia is the maid of honor. Gia is going to go stag. To make matters worse, the best man is the groom's older brother, the guy Gia has had a crush on for years. But he lives in Dallas and has never shown any interest in Gia. But when Xander arrives, Gia is surprised to find that Xander seems to be acting differently towards her. These two set the sparks flying. But what happens in two weekks when it is time for Xander to return back to his life in Dallas?

I enjoyed Gia and Xander’s story. During a New Year’s Eve wedding, Xander and Gia connect. He realizes that he has feelings for Gia, his younger brother’s best friend. After driving her home after the wedding, they begin a two week affair. As they spend more time together, they find out how much they have in common. The question plaguing Gia and Xander is, can they have a future past the two weeks and distance? This was a fast read and Mari Carr does not disappoint.

Gia and Xander wasted no time once they realized their timing was right! He was her forever crush, he realized she was all grown up but she was taken. Now that they are both free, and ready to move in new directions, nothing could hold them back. Especially when joking around reveals truths and gives them sizzling results. A lot of time together, a lot of mind-blowing time in bed, and the ever-wise Magic 8-Ball the guide their lives <3
