I loved how in this book (and it's predecessor) that when they gang went to Kazan they didn't "begin the long journey through beautiful verdent forests..." continuing with 7 pages describing forest but instead "They went to Kazan, once they got there..." This was double edged sword however because the content of the story really needed to be there and it felt very "put together" and you could almost see holes in the first draft being hastily written out (Once you can bring your characters back to life, you need to work really hard for character deaths to mean something) - Half of the story consisted of "This mechanism is special because". All that aside - I'm probably going to get the next one. I'm a fan of Maria V Snyder and her books are an easy summer read.

Tohon- an interesting character, foolish and overconfident. I don't like him. No wait! I hate him! No! I'm Disgusted with him. Bastard!! And the problem is-- Avry and Kerrick took so long to meet and when they did it was a hell of a reunion!! Lamao!! Cannot say not in love with Avry and Kerrick!!
