Horse's at Wolf's Landing start coming up sick after the new town vet arrives. Wanting to find out the cause, Jesse Rayne goes out of her way to test everything she can hoping to never see another animal die in such a way.

When Romeo, the gelding that Jesse was last seen riding, returns to the ranch without Jesse, Torque is extremely worried. He sets out immediately to look for her. When he finds Jesse, she has hit her head and wakes up looking into his piercing light colored eyes thinking she's died and is in heaven staring into the eyes of an angel.

Realizing there is a pattern and other animals are starting to come down with the same symptoms all over town, Jesse and Torque work around the clock trying to catch the culprit.

Can the two of them figure out who is poisoning animals in White Summer?
