4.5/5 Wow! An incredible story that's so alive and vivid with great characters, themes, and worlds! Avalon Lost has easily become one of my favorite books, and reminded me how much I love the Arthurian Legend and great storytelling. Avalon felt so real to me. I wanted to visit it and meet the characters that Mary Rose Kreger created so wonderfully and masterfully. There are so many great characters. Will is my favorite. He was relatable and his story was so compelling and complex. He was so incredibly courageous in the face of all the odds stacking against him, along with the many twists and turns he had to go through in the story. Philia is also a wonderful character. She's brave, kind, strong, sees the good in others, and continues to hold on to hope even when it seems like there's no hope left. There was also plenty of great twists and turns. I really didn't know what was going to happen next. Needless to say, I am really looking forward to reading the sequel when it comes out.
