La vida siempre puede mejorarse —en nosotros mismos, en nuestras relaciones y prácticamente en todo. Pero todos nuestros audaces intentos por mejorar —si es que alguna vez cambian algo— son incompletos en el mejor de los casos o son absolutos fracasos en el peor de ellos. A veces son mucho peor que eso.
A menos que...
El evangelio de Jesucristo es la gran definición de la vida que comienza con “a menos que”... tanto para quienes ya creen (pero que no pueden creer los líos en los que todavía se meten), como así también aquellos que todavía no creen pero simplemente admiten que vivir como viven actualmente no los lleva con éxito a ninguna parte.
Redención, escrito con la audaz intensidad de un pastor y la profunda percepción de un consejero, permite que el lector profundice en las Escrituras y también en sí mismo, descubriendo así que el corazón de todos nuestros problemas es verdaderamente el problema de nuestro corazón. Sin embargo, gracias a lo que Dios ha hecho y lo que Dios puede hacer, la persona más segura y satisfecha que haya conocido podría ser usted —redimido por medio de Jesucristo.
De hecho, ninguno de nosotros puede hacer lo necesario para que nuestra vida mejore, tomando lo que siempre es frustrante y convirtiéndolo en algo perfectamente satisfactorio. No obstante, a pesar de que suene tan desesperante, es la absoluta verdad en que las buenas noticias cobran vida... en su vida. Life never lacks for improvement—in ourselves, in our relationships, in just about everything. But all our brave stabs at getting better, if they ever change anything, are incomplete at best, complete failures at worst. Sometimes much worse.
Unless . . .
The gospel of Jesus Christ is the great “unless” of life—both for those who already believe (but can’t believe the messes they’re still capable of making), as well as those who don’t yet believe but just know their way isn’t working.

Matt Chandler se desempeña como Ministro Principal de Enseñanza en la Iglesia The Village, en el complejo metropolitano de Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas (EE.UU.). He came to The Village in December 2002 and describes his tenure as a replanting effort where he was involved in changing the theological and philosophical culture of the congregation. The church has witnessed a tremendous response growing, from 160 people to over 11,000 with campuses across the DFW metroplex.
Matt is currently involved in church planting efforts both locally and internationally through The Village and various strategic partnerships. He serves as president of Acts 29, a worldwide church-planting organization. Over the last 10 years, Acts 29 has emerged from a small band of brothers to nearly 500 churches in the United States and around the world. Beyond speaking at conferences throughout the world, Matt has also written several books, including The Explicit Gospel, published in April 2012, and Creature of the Word, released in October 2012. His greatest joy outside of Jesus is being married to Lauren and being a dad to their three children, Audrey, Reid and Norah.
