This a genuine treat. A very emotive book with a big heart. You'll laugh out loud and fall in love with the characters. I really tried to take my time with it as I didn't want it to end. I'll miss the characters a lot but carry on in Pat`s good example and always look for the silver lining. A beautiful story of love and friendship.

Finished in a handful of days, this book is the story of Pat Peoples' quest to finish one 'life movie'; and start another. It's heartwarming and original. I completely fell for the characters, each so individual and deep, and especially for Pat through his brilliant narrative. For those who have seen the film, be warned that it is completely different - in the best way possible. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this well-written book. Would recommend to anyone.

This book was the best ive read in a long time. It always caught me off guard and pulled me further into its story, I read this in one sitting thinking I have to know what happens. Honestly can't wait to see the movie now and see how it all plays out. Definately reccomend as it really is an amazing read.

Matthew Quick is the author of The Silver Linings Playbook, which was made into an Academy Award-winning film, The Good Luck of Right Now, and the young adult novels Sorta Like A Rock Star, Boy21 and Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock. His work has been translated into more than twenty languages and he has received a PEN/Hemingway Award Honorable Mention, among other accolades. He is married to the novelist and pianist Alicia Bessette.
