Not as good as any of her previous novels however this one was intended for a younger audience (I'd say ages 8 or 9 up). While it does have a good theme and ending, I was kind of bored by it and the main character irritated me to no end.
About the author
Maureen McCarthy is the ninth of ten children and grew up on a farm near Yea in Victoria. After working for a while as an art teacher, Maureen became a full-time writer.
