About this eBook

"This sweet New Adult book is sure to leave you with a smile on your face.” USA Today bestselling author Cindi Madsen

Katie Capwell is a bright and accomplished recent law school graduate, and she has her shiny future all mapped out. It’s brimming with courtroom victories and creating change. Ryan Brincatt is a tattooed and impossibly cool martial artist, and he’s mastered a fierce roundhouse kick.

Their paths never should have crossed.

But when Katie lurks outside the kickboxing gym where Ryan works as a trainer, she’s immediately drawn to his casual confidence and playful green eyes. Without making her usual list of pros and cons, she impulsively signs up to train with him.

She never imagined that one decision would change. Absolutely. Everything.

LOVED this book. It wasn't what I was expecting, but instead was so much better. Katie is a recent law school grad looking for a job when she goes to a yoga class with her friend. Instead of entering the class, she catches sight of a sexy fighter entering the gym next door. He invites her in and she is hooked, - both on him and on the training. However, after he last boyfriend cruelly dumped her, she is a bit gun shy, thus leading to an interesting dance as she and Ryan get to know each other. While this novel is marketed for the new adult reader, this grandma thoroughly enjoyed it. I found myself caring about the characters and engaged in their story. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author. Just a note for younger readers - this novel has some minimal swear words and some adult situations (but not sexual), it also touches on abusive relationships, but with a light touch for such a tough topic.

Maybe Someone Like You is a sweet story about coming into ones self. Insecurities plague Katie's mind after he boyfriend went from Prince potential to total toad. Always trying to please Mom isn't exactly a confidence booster either. Losing her first Job before it starts...Yeah, Katie is wallowing in self pity. Until she meets him. Ryan is the total opposite of anything Katie has ever found attractive. He's a big tattooed guy. He looks rough around the edges and like her could crush her. But it seerms the only thing getting crushed is her heart... Miscommunication. Or lack of communication seems to be the comedy of errors that sets Katie up for more than a gym membership. It sets her up to fall. And fall she did. This sweet story was a cute read. Not to spoil anyone's fun but gets more intense in feels than I thought it would. Katie's insecurities can take a toll on the reader and make you feel her self deprecating thoughts. But just wait, you will feel better! I promise. Ktie gets her act together and well...It is a beautiful thing.

Loved this one! Low on angst, high on swoon, and it was the perfect fun relaxing read. Katie and Ryan are as different as can be yet they worked perfectly together. He brought her out of her serious comfort zone and taught her how to have a little fun and enjoy life. Their relationship was a nice slow, easy build that just makes your heart swoon. I definitely recommend this one.

About the author

Stacy Wise *wrote* her first book when she was six. It was completely plagiarized, but she spent hours copying it word-for-word in her best printing, so that should count for something.

She devoured books as a kid, but never considered she'd be lucky enough to call herself a real author. Nonetheless, she kept writing. Years later, she graduated from UCLA with a degree in communication studies. Thanks to an internship at NBC, she dropped her plans for graduate school and pursued a career in television casting. She worked on shows including The X Files, Married...With Children, and Party of Five. She continued to write (really bad) stories. After nearly a decade, Stacy left casting and returned to school for her teaching credential and masters. She taught kindergarten and third grade. One marriage and four kids later, Stacy finally decided that maybe one of her stories was worth sharing. "Beyond the Stars" is her debut novel.

She lives in California with her husband and children. When she's not writing, you can find her walking her dogs, Bailey and Rex, kickboxing, or lost in a good book.
