YAASSSS, IDK which author or book blogger who recommended this but this was soooo good! Love a good scarred anti-hero with such power he scares everyone around him, but will do anything and everything for his family. This was a first read for me by this author and I'm already adding the next book to my TBR because it leads in to the next story. Basically a hidden gem. Need more people to read this. The audiobook was also done very well and I loved the M/F characterizations done by narrator Lisa Flanagan.

Meagan McKinney is the author of numerous romantic novels, including Till Dawn Tames the Night, Lions and Lace, Fair Is the Rose, and The Ground She Walks Upon. McKinney is a winner of the Romantic Times Lifetime Achievement Award. Her historical romance, No Choice But Surrender, won the Romantic Times Award for Best Historical Romance by a New Writer and her second novel, My Wicked Enchantress, was a finalist for the Romance Writers of America’s RITA Award.
