This book provides a sound basis in the challenging area of the mechanics of unsaturated geomaterials. Professor Lyesse Laloui is Director of the Laboratory of Soil Mechanics, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne, Switzerland and Adjunct Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, Duke University, Durham, USA.
