About this ebook

Meet Thyme Field, psychology student turned personal trainer, as the romantic comedic mystery series from USA Today bestselling author Melissa F. Miller continues.

Yoga/Pilates instructor Thyme Field's tender heart has gotten her into trouble before—garden-variety trouble like adopting stray animals or volunteering to take the overnight shift at a telethon. But this time, she's in way over her head.

Thyme's working for a hard-charging career woman, whose nanny Helena disappears. Thyme finds herself helping Victor, Helena’s brother, as he searches for his missing sister. Victor and Thyme stumble onto evidence that suggests Helena's been murdered. But nothing's as it seems, and Victor's holding back information.

When it becomes clear they aren't the only ones hunting for Helena, they'll have no choice but to rely on each other to save their own lives.

AudioBook Review: Stars: Overall 3 Narration 2 Story 3 I’ve reached the end of this mystery trilogy, and we are focused in on Thyme: a Yoga and Pilates instructor, youngest sister and the last one to jump into solving murders. She’s working as a personal trainer for a socialite when the Brazilian nanny goes missing. Things really start to heat up when the Nanny’s brother appears on the doorstep, in all his Latin gorgeousness, made even more attractive by his concern for his sister. Now Thyme is not only anxious to do what her older sisters have done – but she’s finding Victor attractive and intriguing – and she wants to investigate the disappearance and the potential connection the two share. When you add in the nanny’s ex-husband, a corrupt police officer in Brazil and his potential involvement in her disappearance, there are plenty of twists, turns and several laughs that take us through the book. Like the earlier titles in the series, the stories are fast paced and fun, escapist reads: nothing too heavy or overly angsty with a nice touch of romance thrown in for good measure. And if that is the sort of escape you are looking for to hide away with a no-fuss story – grab a copy of the book. Narration for this title is again provided by Vanessa Daniels, as have the earlier titles. I kept hoping for some improvement in the performance that would add a dash of the lighthearted humor, or even a touch of aural interest to the story: and I was sorely disappointed. As with each of the earlier books in this series, the odd hesitations, muddled tones, limited distinction in voice for different characters and pacing that was uneven with no apparent relationship to the text left me frustrated. However, I had committed to the series, so I continued to listen, taking several breaks and replaying sections when my attention wandered. This is my third, and last, experience with this narrator: I kept hoping for more and better, even in minimal ways, and it didn’t happen. I think had I read, rather than listened, to this series, I would have found it a better experience. I received an AudioBook copy of the title from Tantor Audio for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

About the author

USA Today bestselling author Melissa F. Miller is a former attorney who traded the practice of law for the art of telling stories.

She is the author of more than two dozen bestselling legal thrillers, suspense thrillers, romantic comedic mysteries, and forensic thrillers. All her work shares two common threads: pulse-pounding, tightly plotted action and smart, unlikely heroines and heroes.

Her books feature such diverse protagonists as a pint-sized attorney and mother of twins who’s trained in Krav Maga; a Native American government investigator who relies on her heritage to guide her when the chips are down; a Buddhist forensic pathologist who refuses to harm any living creature; and a trio of twenty-something sisters just starting out in their careers who find murder and mayhem wherever they go.
