Wow! What a great ending to the series. I suppose this book could be read as a standalone. It has a HEA, but I wouldn't recommend it. I think it would be much more enjoyable if the books were read in order. Each book involves a quest, and they are all connected. This is Anice and Brody's book. I guess it is only fitting that the person who believed the curse could be broken ended up being the final piece to the puzzle. I enjoyed the addition of the Stewarts, Brody's family, to this book. I hope they get their own series. There was good and evil, witches, fairies, empaths, good magick and black magick, and a surprise or two. The characters were well written. The dialogue was witty, scarcastc, and funny. There was action, mystery, intrugue, and a touch of danger. I had only planned to read a couple of chapters, and ended up devouring the book. Even if you make the decision to read this book first, I think it is good enough to make you want to read the rest of the series. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

In the previous books of the series we have seen Anice’s family find their mates and with Brody she believes it is now her turn. Brody has a mission to complete with conflicts with the knowledge that she is his mate. When all is said and done will they be able to work together to complete their quest or will their feelings for each other be the downfall for not only themselves but their family? I am sad to see this story end but with Anice’s story it ended on a good note. The interactions between them were full of humor and heat with just enough suspense and magic to draw you in and not let you go. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Anice has had the most difficult time dealing with the men in her life. Now she’s confronted with a betrayal from someone she is just beginning to open her heart to. Brody Stewart knows Anice is his mate, but he’s reluctant to let her know who he really is or about his true self. When it all comes out, he knows he must work to regain her trust as they both must fight to achieve the final quest toward ending the centuries old curse against the McLennan Clan as well as obtain his Pack’s rightful lands back. As we near the completion of this final quest, the evil gets stronger and the threats more dangerous. Gavin McWalton becomes more deeply possessed of the evil vying to defeat the McLennans and his own hatred for them and his Stewart cousins. This last quest will either break the curse once and for all or bring death to the McLennan’s loved ones and no end to their cursed immortality. This last episode of The Cursed Clan is possibly the best! The suspense and drama that has built over the course of the series reaches its climax with this story. It has all the excitement and intrigue we have come to expect from each of the stories. They are fast paced, becoming more enchanting and attention grabbing as the series unfolds. The characters are well-developed and appealing. The narrative is engaging and flows effortlessly with the right mix of drama, intrigue, emotions, and steamy romance. The underlying storyline of the series is compelling and will be more enjoyable if the stories are read in succession. I strongly recommend you read this very captivating story and series!

About the author

From an early age, USA Today Bestselling author Melissa loved to read. First, it was the books her mother read to her including her two favorites, Winnie the Pooh and the Beatrix Potter books. She cut her preteen teeth on Trixie Belden and read and reviewed To Kill a Mockingbird in middle school. It wasn’t until she was in college that she tried to write her first stories, which were full of angst and pain, and really not that fun to read or write. After trying several different genres, she found romance in a Linda Howard book.

Since her first published book, Grace Under Pressure, Mel has had over 60 short stories, novellas, and novels published. She has written in genres ranging from historical to contemporary to futuristic and has worked with 8 publishers although she handles most of her publishing herself. She is best known for her Harmless and Santini series.

After years of following her military husband around the country and world, Mel happily lives with her family in horse and wine country in Northern Virginia.
