Getting Hot with the Scot

Cassie and Logan’s love story was a moving and wonderful adventure in Getting Hot with the Scot by Melonie Johnson, book one in her Sometimes in Love series. Cassie was on a trip of a lifetime with her four closest friends; spending six weeks traveling across Europe. In their next to last location of Scotland, Cassie becomes separated from her friends inside a castle and is directed to an entrance that is supposed to be to the library. Once inside she discovers a kilter Highlander with an amazing accent. Recognizing the man as Logan Reid, a Scottish internet star who stages pranks for a show called “Shenanigans”, finding innocent people to do embarrassing things. On a lark and a dare, Cassie kisses the Scot, Logan, which is all caught on film. Unfortunately for Logan, Cassie refuses to sign the release forms so he can use the remarkable clip. What starts off as an innocent pursuit, Logan follows after Cassie, knowing that one kiss and one fun night with Cassie was not going to be enough. Logan is offered a television deal which is too good to pass up. What made it more desirable is the fact that filming would occur in Chicago, the same city where Cassie was a journalist, working on a morning show. Spending time together only intensifies the attraction and sparks between these two. Cassie and Logan need to decide if they can overcome their career-focus and commitment phobia enough to take that chance on true and forever love. Ms. Johnson wrote a wonderful and amazing tale that was emotional, and moving, filled with sexual chemistry, wonderful dialogue, and endearing characters that is must read. I totally loved this story about Cassie and Logan finding their true and forever love. I loved the way Cassie helped Logan deal with his anger at the death of his da (father) and Logan even had some awesome tricks up his sleeve in showing Cassie how he truly loved her and was miserable while they were taking a break. I highly recommend Getting Hot with the Scot to other readers and look forward to Ms. Johnson’s next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Logan Reid has built a career on his charm, hosting a series of off-the-wall hijinks on the Web. Their first encounter sizzles & they agree to meet later. Contemporary romances aren’t my favourite genre but I thoroughly enjoyed this feel good novel. Well written & very well paced. The characters are well fleshed. Logan & Cassie’s attraction sizzles & I loved how their relationship developed from a chance encounter & that kiss, to a one night stand that was never going to be enough. The secondary characters were also very likeable & I hope all of their friends have their stories. The road to Logan & Cassie’s HEA was very entertaining, hot & quite captivating – my first by the author & it certainly won’t be the last, I thoroughly enjoyed it My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

I was asked to review this book in exchange for a free copy. I was not familiar with this author but the blurb caught my attention. That being said, I am really glad I took the chance. I just adored this book. I found myself laughing out loud, swooning and just loving the entire ride. Perfect start for a brand new author! She has a fan in me! Cassie Crow and her 4 best friends are heading to Europe on the vacation of a lifetime! She has a bucket list to fulfill and one of those is a one night stand with a not guy. Cassie was expecting to find her man in Paris, but instead she stumbles on to a hot Scotsman in a kilt while touring Edinburgh Castle. What she didn't realize was that the whole encounter was being filmed for a website called Shenanigans and the hot male was web host Logan f***ing Reid. Logan Reid is a typical charming playboy but something about Cassie catches his eye. When he realizes that he needs to get her permission to post the video of the two of them he sees this as his chance to get to know Cassie better. After spending the night with Cassie, Logan didn't realize that he would feel a strong connection to the American beauty. Deciding that he needs more time with Cassie, Logan convinces his best friend, Theo Wharton to meet up with him in London. As Cassie and Logan spend more time together, they both quickly realize that there is more to their feelings than either of them ever expected but how could they possibly have any type of relationship with living so far apart. These two will have to set their priorities straight in order to finally get to their happy ending but boy was it worth it! I just adored Cassie and Logan. They were both so career oriented that neither of them were even thinking of being in a relationship. I also just loved all of their friends and I can't wait read the rest of their stories!
