Melting Point is beyond HAWT! Love Gage and Brady. Reviewed by Kim Gage "Baby Thor" Simpson is one of my favorite heroes. He's the total package. He has a bible pushing mother who abused him as a child because he was gay. He went from foster home to foster home until he finally found a family and home with the Dempseys. He’s a firefighter with Chicago’s Engine Co. 6. Gage is a man who can have any man he wants. In all honesty, he can probably have any woman as well, because let’s face it, he’s amazing. Women know he’s gay but that still doesn’t stop them from falling over themselves. However, Gage only has eyes for Brady Smith. Brady is a thirty-five-year-old former Marine turned successful chef. From his first meeting with Gage, he was completely infatuated with him. But Brady suffers from PTSD from his time in Afghanistan and doesn’t like to be touched. Brady also isn’t much of a communicator. What I love about this couple is the way they are together. Both are broken as a result of life experiences. In fact, their scars are deeper than I ever imagined. But they each try to push aside their own problems to be there for the other. In Flirting with Fire, where the two first met, I remember thinking of Gage as a little puppy dog running around after Brady who didn’t think he deserved a relationship or love. Brady views Gage as sunshine, with himself being darkness. While I love Gage for his playfulness and view of life ~ “I’m cheerful because the alternative is to see obstacles everywhere and expect people will hurt you. I choose to live in full color. I choose to say hey there to hotties , f*** off to the haters, tell lovers how I want it, and people how it shall be.” He is more than he likes to show people. “I’m not nearly as self-absorbed as people think I am.” He’s definitely not. I don’t normally read M/M romances so I can’t say I’m this expert on them but I highly recommend reading Melting Point. Kate Meader has brought together two men who on a surface level have nothing in common and shouldn’t be together. But on a deeper level, they’re great and get each other. They balance each other out. When one is weak because they just can’t balance the past on their shoulders alone, the other is there to provide needed strength. Melting Point shows a different side to the hero (Eli Cooper) in the upcoming book, Playing with Fire. Kate Meader’s Hot in Chicago series is just that HOT. I can’t wait for the next book. It should also be noted that Melting Point is a standalone read. **Received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest unbiased opinion. Also purchased my own digital copy.**

I had been waiting for this book ever since I first set eyes on Gage Simpson and I am beyond thrilled! Gage, “Baby Thor”, perfect, charming, flirtatious and totally irresistible Chicago firefighter who makes everyone weak in the knees. Gage is gay and proud; he is totally self-assured, cocky and he has it bad for his polar opposite: chef Brady Smith. Brady is a veteran from Afghanistan, scarred, a decade older and feels unworthy of the golden god that is Gage; Brady is all darkness and basically doesn’t do people. Gage and Brady had met three months before but not much has come out of it, to Gage’s dismay. Brady is not Gage’s type, and yet, and yet… I had extremely high hopes for MELTING POINT and this fabulous book by Kate Meader exceeds my wildest dreams! I adore Gage, he is one of the most appealing characters I have ever read, and MELTING POINT does him justice. Ms. Meader again demonstrates her astonishing writing skills: the book is fast-paced, the author’s prose as vivid as ever, and the story is riveting. MELTING POINT is a novella, and yet the author succeeds in providing more information on Gage’s early life and what makes him tick, and she delves deeply into how Brady became the broken man that he is. We even get to see another side to heartthrob mayor Eli Cooper, a friend of Brady’s. MELTING POINT is scorching hot, the romance between Gage and Brady is paved with some roadblocks, some unexpected, but it is a beautiful love story that rings true. MELTING POINT is a fantastic, I love Gage even more than before, and I would so like to see more books in the future featuring Gage! Thank you, Ms. Meader, for another terrific read!
