The term metaverse was first used in 1992 in a science fiction novel called snow crash. It portrayed humans as avatars where they interacted with each other and software agents which HBO network is looking to produce into a television series. In a more detailed explanation, the metaverse combines technologies that include virtual reality, which consists of an online community where users interact with each other in a simulated world of augmented reality that combines both the physical and the digital world.
