About this ebook

The Number One international bestselling author of Jurassic Park, Congo and Sphere blends fact and fiction to create a near-future where genetic engineering opens up a whole new world of terrifying, page-turning possibilities...

Is a loved one missing body parts?
Are blondes becoming extinct?
Has a human already cross-bred with a monkey?

We live in a GENETIC WORLD. Fast, frightening – and potentially VERY lucrative. There are designer pets; a genetic cure for drug addiction; a booming market in eggs and sperm. But is there also a talking ape in Borneo? Has a 'master' gene for controlling others been found? Could an innocent man and his family be hunted cross-country because they happen to have certain valuable genes ...

Are you ready for what comes NEXT in Michael Crichton's stunning new thriller?

The book is good, don't get me wrong. I've not finished it yet, but have got to say I'm a bit disappointed that there are so many blanks. Some of the gene names/numbers are just blank, some of the names of people or job titles are blank. Clearly they were left blank during drafting to be added later, but I find this oversight quite sloppy for such a renowned author and his editing team. Otherwise, I'm very much enjoying the book, nice out-of-the-box thinking and yet another of these books which makes the layperson reader feel smart while reading it, which is testament to how well-explained and accessible the author makes these complex topics. There was a disclaimer at the start to say a lot of this is fiction. However I'd love a little footnote to describe whether any elements are true, historic cases, previous genetic experiments etc. Something for the next one...

This was definitely one of his best yet. Even makes one a little more pensive about future possibilities.
