This book was a great find! I have been looking into starting my own homestead for months but the thought scared me because it seemed so overwhelming. This book helped break everything down into bite size pieces making it more enjoyable. I even loved how he added a segment about canning and pickling your vegetables that you start producing.

This book actually taught me how to start my own gardening. It cool to know that hydroponics is growing you plants on water. This method of farming is so cheap and easy to maintain. I no longer need to spend too much money in grocery stores when i can get this items in need on my own from my personal garden. The book also mentioned the type of plants that can be planted on it as well. I am so happy to have read this book.

I have all of the books written about Square Foot gardening. This one updates the material and is much easier to read. Mel would be proud of what the SFG Foundation has written. I recommend this for anyone who wants to start an easier method to home gardening.
