About this ebook

'This book may help those who are susceptible to illnesses that can be prevented with proper nutrition' – His Holiness the Dalai Lama

The international bestseller, Dr Michael Greger's How Not To Die gives effective, scientifically-proven nutritional advice to prevent our biggest killers – including heart disease, breast cancer, prostate cancer, high blood pressure and diabetes – and reveals the astounding health benefits that simple dietary choices can provide.

Why rely on drugs and surgery to cure you of life-threatening disease when the right decisions can prevent you from falling ill to begin with?

Based on the latest scientific research, How Not To Die examines each of the most common diseases to reveal what, how and why different foods affect us, and how increasing our consumption of certain foods and avoiding others can dramatically reduce our risk of falling sick and even reverse the effects of disease. It also shares Dr Greger's 'Daily Dozen' – the twelve foods we should all eat every day to stay in the best of health.

With emphasis on individual family health history and acknowledging that everyone needs something different, Dr Michael Greger offers practical dietary advice to help you live longer, healthier lives.

Well worth every penny. I actually bought the paperback version, not this digital version. This book (along with Colín Campbell's "China Study) has helped me turn my health around and I would even go as far as saying, implementing the recommendations and guidance, that it has saved my life.... For example, my cholesterol dropped from above 230 down to 180 in the first 3 weeks of modifying my diet- I expect to knock it down to about 150 by the next blood test! Before changing diet, I was having chest pains almost daily - not now though! I feel like a new me. Thank you Michael Greger!!!

Incredible advice backed by scientific evidence. This book should be given to every medical student during the first year. It might not be the advice people want to hear, but it's hard to argue with the mountain of science presented. This isn't someone's opinion about eating and nutrition, it's an extremely well sourced and well organized review of published scientific knowledge focused on studies related to the top causes of death in the US. It's so straight-forward and helpful. I wish there more books that presented the facts in this way.

The best book I have ever read in my life. I came across this book as am fascinated with health and nutrition. I always thought I was healthy until I read this book and released how wrong I was. Needless to say my life has totally changed and I've becoming nearly entirely plant and whole foods based. Which I never ever thought I would but fair play I am loving it and feeling amazing.
