About this ebook

From the first moment he saw her, she had command over this merman's heart.

Welcome to the underwater world of Atlantes!

Merman shapeshifter Iason doesn’t understand why the woman he’s trying to rescue seems insistent he save anyone but her. Duty bound to help whoever he can, he takes the woman to Atlantes, his home beneath the waves.

A watery grave isn't the only thing threatening his new charge’s life. To save her from a mortal illness would mean possible disgrace. Iason could be banned from ever swimming in the ocean again.

But what else can he do? From the first moment he saw her, she had command over his heart.

This is book two in the series, though the story runs concurrently with the first book and not in sequence, so you find that there is some repetition of the tale though from a different point of view. The story centres around Cassie who is dying from an aggressive cancer, when she is tossed into the sea but rescued by a Mer. A good story with interesting characters and a action packed plot. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I really liked this book. Cassandra (who we met in the first book) was rescued by Iason and brought to Ataran. The Merr have never seen Cassandra's illness and fear it may infect the other mortals, so Cassandra is placed in Iason care with the hope that he can heal her far away from the Palace. Iason has fallen for Cassandra and hopes to encourage her to become his but circumstances have her bolting and leaving the safety of his presence. A scary encounter with the Olympians brings in the suspense and kicks up the tension which make the last 1/3 of the book fly by and gives us a better introduction to the twins (I could not wait for their stories). It's an absorbing series that really needs to be read in order, as each book builds upon the last. As the whole series is out - it is a fantastic binge read opportunity.

Cassandra has come to terms with her fast-approaching end. Her terminal illness has robbed her of a lot but she has determined that she'll go out her own way. But when she is the only survivor of a shipwreck she thinks fate has a twisted sense of humour - why save her when she is going to die anyway? Iason may have been her rescuer but he wants so much more. There is no way he will allow her to die! Cassandra is determined to enjoy the limited time she has with Iason, telling herself she'll leave him so he doesn't have to watch her die. A terrific little story. There are plenty of things to keep you occupied between the steamy interludes. We even get a cameo appearance from Bridgette and Caderyn. Well worth a read!
