About this eBook

A second chance with an old flame lights a fire under a widowed rancher in this contemporary western romance by the bestselling author of Midnight Ride.

One lonely widower . . . Rohn Lerner is a successful Oklahoma rancher. He's old enough to know what he likes, and still young enough to enjoy it. But losing his wife five years ago wore him thin. He’s not ready to date, but he needs someone to share a meal with as badly as someone to warm his bed.

One woman with a secret . . . Bonnie Martin fled her Oklahoma home years ago, leaving behind her abusive father, and Rohn, the lost love she never forgot. Now she’s back to settle her father's estate, but she has no idea that she's about to bump into Rohn or that they’ll fall for each other all over again.

One night that changes everything . . .

Praise for Midnight Wrangler

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Cat Johnson has written an emotional, second chance love story that grabs you from the first page and holds onto you until the very last page. If you're a fan of cowboy romance, Midnight Wrangler is just what you're looking for.

Loved this one. Great characters make this a very enjoyable read. You don't want to miss it! After losing his wife five years ago, ranch owner Rohn Lerner is lonely and ready to make some changes in his life. When the one girl that ever turned his head as a teenager comes back to town, it's possible this is the one chance he has to find out what happened all those years ago. Perhaps it might be the answer to is future as well! Definitely one I recommend.

An older hero and heroine prove that sparks can fly at any age! Midnight Wrangler is the second in the Midnight Cowboys series but it can be read as a standalone; I liked this book a lot more than the first one. We were introduced to the hero, Rohn, in the first book but you won’t be missing anything important if you start with this one. Rohn’s wife died 5 years ago and lately he has been feeling lonely. His young ranch hands have been trying to convince him that he should get back in the ball game and begin dating. Bonnie and Rohn knew each other in high school and had one wonderful summer together before she left town. Her father’s death brings her back to the town where she grew up and where Ron still lives. They haven’t seen each other in 25 years. I loved how this book told the story alternating between present day and 1990 and also alternating between Rohn and Bonnie yet not being told in first person. In short bits and pieces we learn why Bonnie left town (and Rohn) abruptly and other details of their summer together. While it was pretty easy to guess the reason there was just enough suspense to the story to keep me from being certain about it. Bonnie was Rohn’s first love. He loved his wife very much but she’s been gone 5 years and he’s finally ready to move on. Seeing Bonnie again has reawakened the feelings he had for her years ago. Bonnie is having trouble facing what she did to Rohn and doesn’t feel like she has the right to a second chance with him. Second chance stories are one of my favorites. Throw in the fact that Bonnie and Rohn are in their 40’s and that’s just a bonus for me. Cat Johnson’s writing style in this book is captivating; once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down until I was done. I can’t wait to read the next story in this series! I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
