About this eBook

The first book in New York Times bestselling author Scott Westerfeld’s Midnighters series.

A few nights after Jessica Day arrives in Bixby, Oklahoma, she wakes up at midnight to find the entire world frozen. For one secret hour each night, the town belongs to the dark creatures that haunt the shadows. And only a small group of people—Jessica included—is free to move about then. They are the Midnighters.

From the acclaimed New York Times bestselling author of the Uglies series, coming soon as a major motion picture on Netflix!

Good story, interesting topic and many layers. The only real frustrating part about the story is how little the main characters communicate with each other. They're trying to figure out a bunch of puzzles and new things that are happening to their midnight world, yet each one has their own theories based on the research they've done but no one communicates with each other. i feel like the cover gives off an older woman look than a high schooler, but the cover sometimes doesn't match anyway. I've only read the sample, but there's definitely something interesting here. being a fan of his work since the Uglies when I read it in 5th grade YEARS ago and then going on to read the next 3 books on my own, I have high hopes for this series already!
