About this ebook

Sheā€™s trained for everything up to and including alien invasion. One problem. No one told her aliens would be so damn sexy.

Itā€™s simple. When her base is attacked by aliens, Cat has to fight. Whenever and however possible. But the alien leader, Tarrick, has her in his sights and she has one choice. Come to his bed or things go badly for her friends.Ā

Determined to resist, itā€™s hard to remember what sheā€™s fighting against when her alien captor is built like a god and his touch sets her body on fire. She only has to fool him for a while, just long enough to get the information they need to escape. Long enough to find out her alien captor isnā€™t the monster she thought...

But when the time comes, will she want to leave?

He needs a female, or they all die.Ā

His species is dying. Not today, maybe not tomorrow, but with no females, their days are numbered. Finding a base full of females is a bounty Tarrick can't ignore. Nor can he ignore the delicate little female who stirs his blood yet dares to defy him at every step.

Then a dangerous rival challenges his claim on Terran space and all itā€™s females. He canā€™t afford to lose control, or his clan is doomed.Ā

When his treasured female is taken, he'll do anything to rescue her. Including starting an intergalactic warā€¦

Alien Lord's Captive is book one in what is turning out to be an extensive series. The main premise of the series is human first contact with sentient alien life, and the rough ride following as they realize they're definitely not the baddest of them all. Tarrick (you guessed it, our alien male lead) is a war commander for the Lathar Empire who just discovered humans and, more importantly, their females. Yes, this is another there aren't enough women series, but hey, it's a great base when your genre is both sci-fi AND romance, and this seems to be done well. When he captures the human base, he gathers the women up as is the normal protocol and claims one for himself. That's about where his expectations come to a screeching halt, since the human women prove very quickly that they're not the meek and mild females the Lathar race is accustomed to. I rather liked that Cat is his match because she's not a commander or some top notch Marine fighter but a communications tech, so when she shows that she's not a fragile flower it's even more evident that the women of the human species aren't meek lambs. I do enjoy her dedication to her people despite the whole soul mate thing (yup, this is a thing). To address some of the reviews by people who didn't finish the book or clearly didn't read it... There is definitely coercion and threats of what amounts to rape in the first of the book because their culture sees women as being both rare and needing everything done for them, hence the property concept (this is not exactly new, as many human cultures have been this way and some still are). This mentality is addressed, and is, actually, a big part of the book. This book is setting the stage for the following books in which the humans will be seen maybe not as equals, but much less like cattle. The point is progress. The coercion of the lead female is probably the least appealing aspect of the book, but the whole soul mate thing, though a flimsy bandage, does cover that over (and she's a very active participant, keeping that in mind). Also, the drugged comments aren't accurate. The author very clearly explains the purpose of the injection, and it's not a date rape drug. Also to be clear, there is sex but this is NOT an erotica. If you think it is, read a few; you'll change your mind. Overall, the book was good for it's category. I enjoyed the premise for the series and will continue reading.

This was a really fun and interesting read. Learning about a totally different species and their culture. The Cat character is amazing,so fearless and has so much heart. Her love story is beautiful! Her alien captor is a big softy but fearless and strong at the same time. The only part that bothered me was that the author didn't describe the human females as well as she did the Lathar Males, despite that...I look forward to reading the next book. I would recommend this book if you are a person who is interested in buff aliens and heart-melting romance.

Every "good book" need an excellent story line. A hero or heroine is necessary, and for us gals some good healthy Sex, but following the hot sex, dropping back into story. It's Cool. I just hate going into a long story, with A sexy guy and having to get to the end with 1 or 2 sexy scenes then it's over. Whew!! I'm worn out, too worn out for Sex. Love this book
