Información sobre este eBook

British sleuth Patrick Dawlish gets caught in a twisted web of deceit spun by a criminal mastermind—from the Edgar Award–winning author.

When Patrick Dawlish is too quiet, Scotland Yard gets suspicious. The police are used to him treading about on their turf—with or without their approval. This time, they come to Dawlish for help, asking him to defile his inner sanctum: the Carilon gentleman’s club.

Five perfectly respectable young women have gone missing—and all signs point to fellow club member Sebastian Kane, a bombastic explorer and big-game hunter. Only Kane isn’t the only suspect. His acquaintance is a woman with a bad reputation, and the five disappeared ladies  have all worked as her secretary. As Dawlish inserts himself into their lives, he uncovers accusations of robbery, gold smuggling, and drug trafficking. And the closer Dawlish gets to the truth, the closer he gets to becoming the next trophy on their wall . . .
