About this ebook

Banana Fibres and their Composites: Processing, Design, Properties and Applications presents the latest developments in this important research field. The book begins with a detailed review of the fibre extraction and preparation process. It then goes on to provide a detailed analysis of the properties of these fibres and their fabrication and conversion into textiles and their related composites. The book is then concluded with selected case study examples of a broad range of different applications. The book will be an essential reference resource for academic and industrial researchers, materials scientists and engineers, manufacturers and all those working on the research and development of natural fibre-based composites.• • Covers the physical, chemical, structural, thermal, tensile, weatherability and biodegradable properties of banana fibres and their related composites• Includes banana cultivation, the extraction process, fibre modification and treatment methods, durability, insulation, spin ability and life cycle assessment• Covers non-woven, thermoset, and thermoplastic composites, as well as cellulose nanostructures, and nanocomposites• Includes automotive, construction, wind energy, aerospace, industrial and tribological applications
