Informazioni su questo ebook

Brilliant Dr. Gretta is in trouble. At twenty-seven years old, she is alone in the world, her sister perished in a freak cross-country skiing accident. Suffering multiple injuries, she froze to death in the snow. Gretta struggles to retain her commitment to medicine and science until her old friend Klaus Bernard suggest she visit him in Switzerland. She knows that helping others is often the best way to deal with personal pain and commits to rescue high altitude climbers and hikers die frequently from exposure while climbing the Alps..

No amount of training or expertise can compensate for the low oxygen density of the high altitude, she learns of a line of robot dogs that she believes can be trained to rescue stranded hikers. The funds to purchase them come from an unlikely German entrepreneur Horst and his Chinese Partner Lin who wish to invest in her startup and re-engineer the robodogs into perfect killing machines.  The re-engineers robo dogs pass every test. Klaus and Gretta are asked to participate in a rescue of Tibetan dissident who are unwilling organ donors. Gretta is urged to help which she does so willingly, realizing that her dogs can chance the lives of hundreds of unwilling victims. The rescue is a success but the backlash from the Chinese is brutal. Her rescue crew narrowly escapes, and she finds herself battling the entire organ harvesting industry. Her friends from her earlier years rush to her aid and in helping others live she let go of her immense grief. Her plan to rescue hikers is turned upside down as her team finds itself facing a huge Chinese Aircraft carrier complete with an operating room removing organs in the middle of the Aegean Sea.

Gretta's decision to let her pain go, unlocks her extraordinary journey from Boston to Katmandu. It takes her beyond hopelessness, to the farthest reaches of her faith and causes her to deeply trust in God. She sees that her very real wounded human heart has become the catalyst that will allow thousands to escape the barbarity of being medical human sacrifices in an industry that sacrifices the lives of so many to the greed of individuals and governments who care about nothing except profit.
