About this eBook

Life for Sadie has been nothing but one bad experience after another. She was the Universe’s favorite punching bag, but somehow, she was still alive.

The last thing Sadie wanted in her life was a man. Too bad the persistent, hot as flames man in black didn’t get the memo. Night after night, he found his way into her place of work, having eyes for nothing and no one but her.

One strange and confusing conversation with him was all it took for her to get sucked in. He was the most complex, unnerving, enigmatic creature she ever came across. He left her bemused and overwhelmed half the time - from his weird and inconsistent behaviors to his weaving emotions. He was a madness she found herself drawn to like moth to a flame.

She couldn’t understand why she so uncontrollably pulled to him, unable to resist him. Or why he felt so familiar.

When Sadie began having strange dreams, dreams that were her forbidden memories, memories that doctors told her were irretrievable, the enigma behind the man in black began to unravel.

*Mr. Mysterious in Black is a complete standalone. Dual POV - First person narrative - Heroine. Third-person narrative - Hero.*

I enjoyed the storyline but personally I'm not a fan of the female protagonist. Throughout the book she continuously rejects the guy. In some instances it's understandable but in some, the issues could've been addressed and fixed and it would have made for good building blocks for a healthy and successful relationship. Nelson keeps trying, which is very admirable and she admits that she's attracted to him but in terms of actions, I can't say I see it. In the end she blatantly manipulated him. She wasn't fighting for them and was willing to just give up. Then instead of taking accountability for that, she brings up something completely unrelated just to make him feel guilty. Not a good sign. All in all, the author did a good job. This is done really good story telling. I just wasn't a huge fan of the protagonist in the context of the romantic relationship.

Wow! what a book. I was hooked from the very beginning. there were many times Dadie annoyed me with her thoughts, actions and some times how naive she could be. Natalio was super patient, more patient than I would have been. Sadie was his true love and proved it over and over again. one thing that really disturbed me was Sadie mom and how in the world she thought it was ok to stay with an abusive husband/father just because he was the "bred winner" and her mom would rather take a beating then protect her and Sadie from a sick man and the fact that Sadie "appreciated" what her dad did so she could not remember Nelly was just so wrong in my opinion. I want to read more from.this author

Really enjoyed this tale. It was a bit disjointed in a few places and some of the editing was off, but since it was published about 10 years ago, I'm guessing those small things have greatly improved.

About the author

S. Ann Cole is an exaggerator, a laugher, sometimes overly chatty, sometimes overly shy. She’s afraid of cats, dogs, snakes—heck, she’s only tolerable to gold fishes in a tank.

She hates fireworks, schmaltz and arrogance.

She loves carbs, full moons and humility.

She lives nowhere and everywhere.

Jokey people are her favorite people to be around, as laughter is the way to her heart.

When Ann’s not abusing her computer keyboard, you can find her nosing a novel, watching anything on television that makes her laugh until she breaks into hiccups (loves Disney, TBS, and Impractical Jokers!) studying the Bible, or sipping red wine.
