About the author

Max Allan Collins is a New York Times bestselling author who was named Grand Master by the Mystery Writers of America in 2017. He has earned an unprecedented twenty-three Private Eye Writers of America Shamus nominations with three wins, along with the Eye, the PWA’s lifetime achievement award. One of the most prolific and popular authors in the field today, his work includes Road to Perdition (the acclaimed graphic novel that inspired the Oscar-winning movie), the Quarry novel series, and the multiple-award winning Nathan Heller historical noir mysteries. Collins’ many comics credits include the syndicated strip Dick Tracy, Batman, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and he is an experienced author of movie adaptations and tie-in novels. He is also the literary executor of Mickey Spillane.

Terry Beatty spent more than a decade inking various Batman comics including a four-year stint inking Chris Jones’ pencils on The Batman Strikes, and the entire run of Batman: Gotham Adventures. He has collaborated with Max Allan Collins on several titles including Mike Mist, Mickey Spillane’s Mike Danger, Johnny Dynamite, and Return To Perdition, the sequel to Road To Perdition. Terry has also been the artist on the Sunday episodes of King Feature’s classic comic strip, The Phantom. His illustrations have appeared on covers for Berkley Books andHard Case Crime, while his drawings and sculptures have beenfeatured in various gallery shows. He currently writes and draws Rex Morgan M.D. for King Features.
