About this eBook

Sometimes, trying to be part of the human world can be a real killer. . . Cougar-shifter Lily Mason is ready to put down roots in the human town of Moonrise, Missouri. She only has two problems: her attraction and proximity to Parker Knowles, her boss at the Pit Bull Rescue Shelter, and her need to shift into animal form more than once a month.

When she gets the opportunity to buy a “fixer-upper” outside of Moonrise with plenty of room to get wild without running into easily freaked-out humans, Lily jumps at the chance. Smooshie, Lily’s lovable pit bull and partner in chaos, is eager to participate with the home improvements. Unfortunately, Smooshie’s help includes digging out a mummified body from the living room wall.

Lily is still recovering from the last murder investigation she got involved in–and she’s not looking forward to being in the middle of another one. The case gets even stickier when Lily’s landlord is murdered, rumors of a heist gone wrong run rampant, and Parker’s old high school buddies have returned to Moonrise, thus increasing the suspect pool. Lily’s attempts to become a bona fide citizen of Moonrise might well be thwarted by this newest complication–especially when the murderer sets sights on her.

Murder & The Money Pit, Book 2 of the Barkside of the Moon Cozy Mysteries from USA Today bestselling paranormal cozy mystery author Renee George, is a gripping murder mystery that keeps you guessing from beginning to end!

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest Lily was just recovering from the last murder investigation. When she uncovers a dead body, she cannot leave it alone. But not to worry, Smooshie is right there to help Lily to solve this case. I loved the storytelling + the characters The storytelling + the character's build were awesome!

We’re back with Lily Mason and her pit Smooshie. These two characters make for an interesting book. The author has humor, mystery, mayhem, narrow minded officials and a hunky employer. What more can you ask for in a good book? Rhe characters will have you laughing and crying at their antics all wrapped up in a great story.

Something is afoot (pun intended) in Moonrise. Yep, Lilly is still fighting her attraction to Parker and still finding mysteries and bodies or body. Smooshie is just as sweet and mischievous as I remember. However, there are some newbies, to Lilly anyway, who add more spice to her life. I love series that are stand alone books but the characters move on in the next one.  There is evidence of murder, close to home, and she hates to call the sherif—they aren't exactly buds. There is trouble and murder and so much. As usual, she is in the middle of it all. There is plenty to keep her busy, besides remodeling her new home. And plenty to keep you wondering. Can you figure out the culprit or is it culprits? I have to say, I love Parker, I want them to be together. In this world, shifters and humans are not fated and don't marry. They can't have children and the human ages more quickly than the shifter, a cougar in Lilly's case. This makes me sad, but then Smooshie does something Smooshieish and I am happy again.  I keep hoping things will change and who knows. This was a book I promised myself I'd wait a day or so to read because I was really busy. Just couldn't do it. I love this sister series as much as the Witchin' Impossible series. Don't miss either. Another fun, interesting mystery from one of my favorite authors. Thank you, Ms. George. Keep 'em coming.

About the author

USA Today Bestselling author Renee George writes paranormal mysteries and romances because she loves all things whodunit, Otherworldly, and weird. Also, she wishes her pittie, the adorable Kona Princess Warrior, and her beagle, Josie the Incontinent Princess, could talk. Or at least be more like Scooby-Doo and help her unmask villains at the haunted house up the street.

When she's not writing about mystery-solving werecougars or the adventures of a hapless psychic living among shapeshifters, she is preyed upon by stray kittens who end up living in her house because she can't say no to those sweet, furry faces. (Someone stop telling them where she lives!)

She resides in Mid-Missouri with her family and spends her non-writing time doing really cool stuff...like watching TV and cleaning up dog poop.
