He has remained active in political matters, campaigning for Democratic presidential candidates, notably his wife in the 2008 presidential election. Hilary Clinton, is also a powerful force in world politics; she was the United States Senator for New York from 2001-9 and the 67th United States Secretary of State under Barack Obama.
