About this ebook

Throughout his spiritual ministration in the West, Swami Vivekananda mainly spread the message of the Universal Religion of Vedanta. Only on two occasions did he speak about his Master, Sri Ramakrishna; and that was at New York and England. This book comprises both the lectures combined under the present title. It contains the outpouring of a devout heart deeply stirred by the very name of his Master.

Swami Vivekananda's account of his Guru Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa Deva is presented by him not only with the objective to introduce the Great Master to the world and inspire people, but also to pay homage to Him who had the power to mould and teach a strong and self willed person like Vivekananda, and is therefore most significant and important for all seekers of Self Realisation to know that spiritual wisdom does depend upon worldly education and even the most learned have to sit at the feet of such a Master if they desire illumination.
