Myanmar's conduct within, and membership of, ASEAN continues to be a topic of interest and debate to those who wish to understand and assess the work of the regional organization as a whole. However, there are few accessible surveys which provide a background to Myanmar's accession and its growing economic, political and functional engagement and co-operation with the other countries in the regional community.

Myanmar in ASEAN discusses the formation of ASEAN, its evolution and its integration process against an overview of the political and economic development of Myanmar. This volume explains and analyses the accession of Myanmar into ASEAN and the political, security and economic impact and implications for Myanmar; key ASEAN documents are included as a reference for students of regional integration.
