4.25 stars. This short story is mostly female lead POV, well written, and a funny, steamy, sci fi, alien/human romance ending with a “happy for now” and the author’s note that there’s significantly more for these characters in the future. I’m open to that. I enjoyed Zelda’s acceptance of her own shortcomings and her determination to have vengeance, even if she needed to temper Mal’s inclinations. I enjoyed Mal’s perverse determination to twist every situation for his own amusement.
