Are too good

Julia St. James Ford has washed up on a beach near her home in Seaside, Oregon, with no memory of how she got there or how her husband, Joe, died. The police rule the case an accident. But Joe's brother, Sam—Jules' rescuer and her first love—suspects otherwise. While Sam tries to piece the facts together, Jules fears someone is watching, determined to find out how much she knows.

To be true

Behind closed doors, behind Jules' neighbors' smiles, are terrifying secrets. A string of sordid thrill kills . . . and one survivor who never should have got away. And as she and Sam close in on the events of one tragic night, and the truth comes flooding back, remembering a killer's face may be the last thing Jules ever does . . .

Dangerous Behavior has two separate story lines. One is that Julia (Jules) and Sam were high school sweethearts and lovers until he screwed up by kissing another girl. Jules wound up marrying Sam's brother, Joe, creating a rift between the brothers. So he's surprised to get a text from his brother telling him to meet him at the dock where he keeps his boat. Sam goes and finds his brother's boat on fire. He also finds Jules, half drowned, and his brother is found some days later, drowned. Waking in the hospital, Jules has no memory of anyone or anything. Sam is determined to find his brother's killer. Then there are the man and woman who are absolutely perfect for each other. They love to kill for thrills, and love getting paid by an anonymous old man, even better. And it does wonderful things for their sex life. While this book started out with a good premise, it got a little old when Sam would remember things from when he first loved Jules. He never stopped loving her. And then, as Jules' memory came back, she doesn't remember her husband.. she remembers the exact same things that Sam has remembered. The book is peppered from one end to another with these memories. You are introduced to the killers .. but because there are many new characters at the same time, the reader is kept in the dark about their identities. I actually thought the ending was the best part of this book. It was a total surprise that I never saw coming. I have read Nancy Bush before .. this is not one of her best. Wasn't bad enough to make me stop reading ... but just not that exciting in the big scheme of things. Many thanks to the author / Kensington Books - Zebra / Netgalley for the advanced digital copy of DANGEROUS BEHAVIOR. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

I was planning on rating this book only 2 stars until I read the twist at the very end. I didn't see that one coming.
