About the author

Neil Gaiman is the NEW YORK TIMES best-selling author of AMERICAN GODS and CORALINE and the creator of the critically acclaimed Vertigo series, THE SANDMAN. His other books include the novels ANANSI BOYS, NEVERWHERE and STARDUST (winner of the American Library AssociationÕs Alex Awards as one of 2000Õs top ten adult novels for young adults) and the short fiction collections M IS FOR MAGIC, FRAGILE THINGS and SMOKE AND MIRRORS. His illustrated novel STARDUST was released as a major motion picture in Summer 2007 starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Robert De Niro. He is also the author of the childrenÕs books THE WOLVES IN THE WALLS and THE DAY I TRADED MY DAD FOR A GOLDFISH. Among his many awards are the Eisner, Hugo, the Nebula, the World Fantasy and the Bram Stoker. Originally from England, Gaiman now lives in the United States. The man most closely associated with the Silver Age Flash, Carmine Infantino began working in comics in the mid-1940s as the artist on such features as Green Lantern, Black Canary, Ghost Patrol and the original Golden Age Flash. Infantino lent his unique style to a variety of super-hero, supernatural, and Western features throughout the 1950s until he was tapped to pencil the 1956 revival of the Flash. While continuing to pencil THE FLASH series, he also provided the art for other strips, including Batman, the Elongated Man and Adam Strange. Infantino became DC's editorial director in 1967 and ultimately its president before returning to freelancing in 1976. Since then he has pencilled and inked numerous features, including the Batman newspaper strip, GREEN LANTERN CORPS and DANGER TRAIL. Born in 1950, Roger Stern began his love affair with comics by helping produce the popular fanzine CPL (Contemporary Pictorial Literature). He then joined Marvel Comics in 1975, first as a writer and then an editor. His writing credits at Marvel include celebrated runs on THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN and CAPTAIN AMERICA. In 1987, Stern began writing for DC, where he quickly became an integral part of the Superman team. His other DC credits include POWER OF THE ATOM and STARMAN, and he has also written the prose novels THE DEATH AND LIFE OF SUPERMAN, SMALLVILLE: STRANGE VISITORS and SUPERMAN: THE NEVER-ENDING BATTLE.Ê
