Dr. Newton Bernardi pe biólogo e nasceu em São Paulo-SP. Graduou-se em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP), foi professor da Cadeira de Fisiologia da Escola Paulista de Medicina (hoje pertencente à UNIFESP), é Mestre em Biologia Molecular pela Escola Paulista de Medicina, Doutor em Fisiologia (PhD) pela Universidade de Aberdeen, na Escócia, na área de Neurofisiologia, e foi professor de Fisiologia na Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina.
