The Moon hung low, a pale orb casting eerie shadows across the desolate landscape. A thick mist rolled in from the nearby forest, obscuring the trees and enveloping the small town of Deadwood in an otherworldly haze. In a quaint house at the edge of town, the Thompson family settled in for the night. John and Sarah, along with their two children, Emily and Jacob, retired to their respective rooms, unaware of the darkness that awaited them.
