About this ebook

From Nora Roberts comes the #1 New York Times bestseller Shelter in Place (June 2018)a powerful tale of heart, heroism...and propulsive suspense.

It was a typical evening at a mall outside Portland, Maine. Three teenage friends waited for the movie to start. A boy flirted with the girl selling sunglasses. Mothers and children shopped together, and the manager at video game store tended to customers. Then the shooters arrived.

The chaos and carnage lasted only eight minutes before the killers were taken down. But for those who lived through it, the effects would last forever. In the years that followed, one would dedicate himself to a law enforcement career. Another would close herself off, trying to bury the memory of huddling in a ladies' room, helplessly clutching her cell phone--until she finally found a way to pour her emotions into her art.

But one person wasn't satisfied with the shockingly high death toll at the DownEast Mall. And as the survivors slowly heal, find shelter, and rebuild, they will discover that another conspirator is lying in wait--and this time, there might be nowhere safe to hide.

I would recommend you read this book. I found it easy to read and it kept me engaged from start to finish. The story focuses on a single event in this town and more precisely, how it affected the lives of a few particular people. At the end there was a romantic-ish HEA, but it is not really the center theme of the book. As usual with anything by NR, it is well written in her usual style. Whenever I find myself in the midst of a series of no-so-great book choices, reading a NR novel has to date, been a safe choice for a great read.

I really loved this book it has everything you could want in a book, mystery, compassion, murder, and a little love story. I have read it three different times and every time it's like I found something I missed or something new I discovered. The main characters have come to life on their own, you can feel every emotion they have throughout the book and they take that and make it their own. I just love how the book flows with every page with detailed and an ending no cliffhangers I really don't like arthur's who do cliffhangers in the end. I will end up buying the hard copy of this it's that good.

I usually love her books and this one started so good. I ended up disappointed overall though. It's hard to explain what I disliked about it. In a nutshell, some parts seemed to drag on and some were really shallow. The final showdown was extremely anticlimactic for me as well.
