About this eBook

"Hypnotic and chilling — you won't forget this in a hurry." – Lee Child

NOMINATED FOR THE STRAND CRITICS AWARD FOR BEST FIRST NOVEL OF 2015

He lives on your street, in a nice house with a tidy garden. He shops at your local supermarket. He drives beside you, waving to let you into the lane ahead of him. He’s the perfect neighbour. But he also has an elaborate cage in a secret basement under his garage.

And he thinks it’s perfectly normal to kidnap young women and keep them captive.

This is how it’s been for a long time. It’s normal...and it works. Perfectly.

But this time it’s different

Really good read, unusual and original. It's set in England (pounds, UEA, Home Counties) for those wondering (the American spellings confuse the location - gray, traveling, color). I just wish there had been a bit more on the end! I'd definitely recommend it. Thanks for taking the time to write it

I loved the beginning but did feel it got a bit over descriptive in places. Not a fan of the ending, I know some people like to figure it out themselves but I prefer a 'proper' ending when everything's tied up.

Ive not read a book i have enjoyed so much in months!!! So good. So clever. The psychology of it is very good. So true to what its like when you look after people who are convicted of awful crimes but mentally ill. Very well crafted anology of the person behind the crime.
