This book has a good plot, reasonable characters, fairly good settings, but it is so depressing I cannot rate it highly. The main problem is Grace. The matter what happens she is full of dread and angst. Even when she realizes that her hearing is much better in Sandia, she still agonizes. At times I want to tell her straight up and fly right. Her Unrelenting gloom really makes me not want to read more of the books

I love your books but absolutely hate your endings.. I'm sorry for the midi core rating. but if you change your endings as it's not a Cliff hanger I'd change my rating to a 5 ⭐

Ended on a cliff hanger and the main female character was written in an extremely grating way. Good writing, poor execution.
