About this eBook

Two years ago, Emily Burnham, had an epiphany about the shallowness of her life. And she made it her mission to become a different person…a better woman. Out from under the controlling thumb of her mother, Emily is tasting the real world for the first time. And she likes it.

Nixon Caldwell has served his time in the Marine Corps, surviving two brutal tours in Afghanistan. He is back home, surrounded by what he likes best…isolation. It's certainly the easiest way to avoid confrontation of the consuming guilt that is weighing him down.

When an accident brings Emily and Nix together, he soon learns he is not the master of his own fate. Struggling with his own pain, Nix tries to guard himself against Emily’s charms. He wants her in his bed, but he doesn’t want her in his heart.

Having grabbed life by the horns, Emily wants it all. But is she willing to accept just the small part of himself that Nix is offering? Or can she reach the part of his soul that he has deemed to be Off Limits?

I loved this book couldn't put it down. Emily was a spoiled brat thanks to her mom, but when she started going to college & really getting to know her brothers wife Danny she wanted to change. Nix was a Marin who had a bad experience and feels guilty for what had happened to his best friend Paul in one of their tours. For Emily & Nix to be really happy he has to face his guilt that is stopping him from really living

Oh my god !!! Thanks to the author it's worth reading. But if only people were so understanding like they are in the characters of the book like how Emily's mom realised her mistake and how Nix's friend Paul was soo much understanding .People in real life are not like that they do not reconcile with people or person they hate unlike Emily's parents did with their son and daughter-in-law, and exactly how many parents encourage their children to follow THEIR dreams?? Like Emily's parents did , I loved the book from the bottom of my heart. 😘 I tell u what it's worth reading . Book explains and beautifully explores family relationships and I loved the starting chapters the most 💖

About the author

Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released multiple books, many of which have appeared on the New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists.

A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.

Sawyer likes her Bloody Marys strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active daughter, as well as full-time servant to her adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or even better, both.

Sawyer also writes general and women’s fiction under the pen name S. Bennett and sweet romance under the name Juliette Poe.
