Worth a read but do not expect a comparison to the revelation space universe books, which were amazing btw. Difficult to follow in parts & not that enthralling overall Think he needs to go back to the revelation space style of books

A good attempt to span mind boggling time and space but ultimately the story is just not that interesting. I ended up not caring for any of the characters they all seemed 2 dimensional. It feels like the longest first chapter of an as yet unfinished novel. I have loved all his previous stuff and everyone has an off day.

Well worth a read. I agree with other comments that the end seems rushed. But it's still a great book
